A WALK ON THE WILD SIDE

July 2, 2016

Live on the edge and do one of these trails when visiting the Kruger Park. You need to book way in advance so plan ahead.  What’s not to love about sleeping in a safari tent, going on  guided day walks and having your meals prepared for you.

One of our favourite trails for breathtaking scenery is Olifants Trail, Letaba.  The base camp is on the riverbank and you’ll be able to hike gorges and valleys along the banks of the Olifants River - with a very good chance of seeing the Big Five.

If birdwatching blows your hair back, try the Nyalaland Trail, Punda Maria. Base camp is next to the Luvuvhu River which provides spectacular views.  With prolific bird life in the area, sightings of various local species like Mottled Spinetail, Greyheaded Parrot and Pel’s Fish Owl is common.

For city slickers not accustomed to walking further than from their desk to the loo the Sweni Trail, Satara provides an easy amble over flat terrain. Base camp is on the banks of the Sweni River with lots of game viewing opportunities.

We’ll help you book or if you wish, visit the San Parks website (sanparks.org) or call +27 12 426 5111

Happy Trails ~
